Pop it or Toss it!: The Lone Ranger

Hey everybody! Welcome to the second post of Pop it or Toss it!

So in this post, we will finally have an actual movie review. Now I bet a lot of you are expecting the movie to be one in the theatres, but actually I will be reviewing the movie The Lone Ranger. And why would I choose that movie? Well I thought it would be the perfect movie to kick of this blog. It'll all make sense later.

So my family was real excited to see this movie. While we were in Colorado visiting family, we were actually right by where they were filming! All the shops were selling Lone Ranger stuff, and we even got to see the artwork of what Johnny Depp's makeup would look like in the film. And the best part of while were there...I tricked my sister that a security van that passed by was driving Johnny Depp to set. That in itself could make the trip worth it.

I gotta be honest, I have a little beef with the people who have some beef against this movie. When I first saw this in the theatre, I was blown away. The cinematography was amazing! There were a fair share of awesome shots. The look of the movie was incredible. And the story was just right. Personally I felt this movie was A LOT like Pirates of the Caribbean. Why wouldn't it, considering they both have Johnny Depp's acting and Jerry Bruckheimer's producing.

Aside from the looks of it, I love the story. It's a classic western tale about a man of the law, becoming an outlaw. The movie has plenty of action, and lots of fun! Just the chemistry between Tonto and the ranger himself was enough to entertain me in some places of the film.

In this blog, I'll also try to incorparate the good things, and the bad things about each movie. I could go on all day about how much I love a movie, or how stupid it is. But how good of a critic would I be then? Hm? Not a good one.

I watched the movie last night, and I'll admit. There are some places in it where it just goes on...and on... and not a whole lot happens. Which I understand, it happens. But when you are watching it as late as I was last night, you just want to get to the: dun_du dun_ du_dun....dundundundunadundunadun. (that was supposed to be the song...Maybe I should just put a link to it, here ya go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZIVphczMbY  )

So here's what I have to say to those who just say that this movie is bad (I promise, I won't be ranting in this paragraph). These are the reasons I've heard people say they don't like this movie:
-it's too goofy and stupid
-it is offensive.
I don't understand the goofy part. I mean, it was similar humor to Pirates of the Caribbean, and that movie got praised for it. This movie is supposed to be goofy! Why? Because it wants to. And...some people might have forgotten, that Tonto is telling this whole story to a kid. So he's saying what is going to entertain a kid, or what a kid will believe. And...Tonto's just gone a little crazy at this point.

Now about the offensive part, I don't really know what it was that people were offended by, so... just keep that in mind. But what I know is that it wasn't intentionally offensive. Should they have tried a little harder to not be offenisve? Or be more sensitive to its viewers? Probably. But i think it's wrong to judge a whole movie soley based on one thing as small as that. Think of all the hard work all those people put in to it? The whole purpose of this movie is to entertain you.(actually its to make money...but they do that by entertaining you). Judging a movie is like judging a person. 'Cause movies are like people. Except movies are a whole lot more entertaining, and a LOT less annoying.

Thanks a lot for reading! It went on a little longer than I expected, sorry about that, But hey. It's the first post.

Feel free to leave a comment on your opinon, or any movie you'd like to review. But be warned: I DO NOT ACCEPT TROLLS ON THIS BLOG. KEEP YOUR PROBLEMS TO YOURSELF. OR MAKE YOUR OWN BLOG.
