About 2 weeks back, my friend and sister dragged me into seeing...The DUFF.
I will say this now, I learned the rather cliche routine of 'teenage' movies before I was 13. Admit it. They are all THE SAME. The main character is either average, or dorky, likes the, quote on quote'hot' guy, mean girl is on and off with said guy. Character gets bullied, and the whole thing ends at a dance where they are all of the sudden super attractive, and get the guy/girl.
This movie however, as much as it includes (well just about everything from said list) it still adds some slight twists and turns that keep it a little more interesting.
To be perfectly honest, I did enjoy watching it. I loved how the main character was actually a little awkward and quirky. I think a lot of us can agree that most of the time, said 'awkward character', is really not all that weird. And I LOVE WEIRD PEOPLE. The character was just so entertaining to watch.
But don't think it didn't have it's cons to it. Even after going through high school, I still wanna give everyone in the movie a punch in the face. Really everyone in the whole school is flat-out obnoxious. And every time they mentioned a selfie, or anything like it, I felt a very strong urge to do violent things.
However, I realize that some of things HAD to be in it. You know, 'cause.
Thank you for reading!
