Hey!
Oh my gosh everybody, I can not believe this blog is 1,576 pageviews! I can not tell you how awesome that is to me!
I apologize for being so BAD at posting and keeping up with this. I hope you can accept my apology once I start posting EVERY TUESDAY. It's a big deal to make, but I’ll do my best.
I haven’t mentioned it yet, but recently I have actually started to pursue my dream of filmmaking. And here I give to you: My film debut.
It’s not perfect. Not even great. But I worked realllly hard on this, and ended up with a final product. And my crew and I had lots of fun making it. I can appreciate it for its flaws, and yet still be proud enough to show it to the whole internet. Which as an artist, is often very important.
What a Camera Captures came to me when I walked by a mirror in a dark bathroom. I don’t how, but the reflection gave me an idea: What if someone who was making a horror movie became paranoid? It was Halloween time, and for once in my life I started to take an interest in horror films. Which probably heavily influenced my idea.
My idea, however, went in many directions while I was working with it. At first it was someone making a horror film and becoming paranoid, and then a Black Swan-esque story about being consumed by one's art. And also a story where a camera is haunted, rather than a house or heirloom of some sort. Part of the film is kind of inspired by the belief that a camera captures souls when a picture is taken. After having finished the piece, I really wish I would have focused more on that direction. But with this being the first film I had written and directed, and only having about 8 minutes (which was supposed to less than a minute, I should add) I started to drown in the project. But, here it is. Done. Not completed, but done. And it’s something that I can show people.
The idea and poem were written by yours truly, (me)

They were a HUGE help in the making of this. Without them, I guarantee you there would be no movie.
