As promised, here is the very first READER'S CHOICE!!! Post. As you can see, today I will be reviewing Project Almanac.
Be prepared for spoilers. Keep in mind spoilers may ruin your movie-viewing experience.
How do I feel about Project Almanac? I dunno really know. First I'll tell you what my friends thought.
Friend 1: Thought it was stupid, and wanted her money back the moment it ended.
Friend 2: LOVED IT!!!
I see each side perfectly. Overall the story was pretty cool, and enjoyable. There were some places here and there where it got boring or stupid.
The right:It was entertaining, and I liked the story. I thoroughly enjoyed for the most part. And there was a performance from Imagine Dragons, playing m'favorite song. So I should give some points for that.
The wrong: The characters were okay. And that is certainly not okay! I'm not asking every movie to move me with character development, and I'm sorry, but the main guy didn't cut it for me.
The lalapalooza. What was with that?! I guess because it is a movie with teenage characters and PG 13 rating, they should do 'teenage' things. But as someone who has never been, nor never will be, it's hard to relate.
What bugged me about the lalapalooza was the whole thing with the girl. All of this wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff happened for this girl? Did this guy think that that one moment would determine their relationship? That there wasn't going to be SOME other time where he could make a move on her?
I personally would've found it MUCH more interesting if he went back in time to save his dad's life. Yeah, they really glossed over that one. We know nothing about it! I was expecting his death to relate to project almanac. I would've been interested to see him debate between keeping his dad alive and having all the bad things happen, or leave his dad dead and the rest of the world okay.
But no. He jips up time to get some girl that already liked him.
The ending: That still shot of the empty basement was pretty cool. I can't exactly explain why; the mystery of it was pretty cool. The scene with him and his sister and the cameras was kinda cool. And it should've ended there. Throughout the movie, I'm pretty well entertained, and hope for a good ending. But what do I get?
"I think we are about to change the world..." I call jip on that ending. Maybe it was the delivery, or the fact that he shouldn't go anywhere near the time machine again... but it was not satisying.
Thank you for reading! I would tell you to leave a comment, but I have been told that the comments aren't working. So until I get that fixed, you can send your comments and requests to: PopitorTossit@gmail.com
